Programs for Personal Development and Professional Certification
Introductory Open House
Experience Rosen Method Bodywork and Movement by receiving a full, private bodywork session, enjoying a fun and easy movement class, and participating in a discussion about the theory and self-care benefits of the Rosen Method.
Introductory Workshops
Introductory workshops give you the opportunity to experience giving and receiving the Rosen Method Touch, to enjoy Rosen Method Movement, to learn theory through presentations and question and answer circles, and to observe the therapeutic process through demonstrations. Participating in an Introductory Workshop is an excellent way to explore Rosen Method as a vehicle for your personal or professional growth. Participation in an Introductory Workshop counts toward hours earned for Practitioner Certification.
Residential Rosen Method Bodywork Intensives
The Residential Rosen Method Bodywork Intensives are four to six days long and are held at retreat centers chosen for their serene, natural environment. Rosen Method Open Center will travel to train groups at their request. Group work includes three hours of class in the mornings and three hours of practicum in the afternoons. Several evenings are spent together after dinner for a guided expressive arts project. During the two hour break between lunch and practicum, you have the option of receiving a private bodywork session, or receiving a supervision if you are on the training track, or simply enjoy free time by yourself or with other participants.
The Intensives are designed for people seeking greater personal growth and for professionals seeking a more holistic approach. They are open to beginners and experts alike. We come together to practice acceptance of ourselves and of one another. We explore the possibility to let our guard down, open our minds and hearts, drop into our deeper selves and connect with each other.
Our warm invitation to:
Anyone in need of retreat time to unwind and reconnect with yourself
Anyone longing for more authentic connections with others
People wanting a personal, practical experience of the body-mind-spirit connection
Mental health professionals, nurses, medical staff, clergy and spiritual counselors looking for complementary skills
People interested in becoming Certified Rosen Method Practitioners
Our intention is to present and demonstrate:
How awareness is the fundamental agent of the healing process
How being grounded in embodiment leads to presence, presence to the moment, to one's self and to others
The art of giving and receiving the Rosen Method's listening and attuned touch
The art of allowing
The art of moving-to-music from the inside out
Intensives include:
Discussions of the Rosen Method basic principles:
Origin of unconscious muscle tension and how they limit our potential
Impact of thoughts and emotions on holding patterns
Recognizing the natural breath
How to create space for the development of new neural pathways
Demonstrations of:
How to locate the tensions that block the free flow of breath or life energy
How to make contact with inquiring hands to connect with the unconscious
How to reach for the core of the self beneath the holdings
How to follow the breath as the guide to a deeper self
How to give therapeutic non-analytical verbal support
Guided practicum periods every afternoon, bringing the mornings' teachings and insights into practice by giving and receiving a bodywork session, with a different partner every day.
A daily one-hour Rosen Method movement class to music
Daily circle group process where speaking your truth is met and supported by empathetic active listening
A fun guided creative project offered after dinner
